Installation Instructions

1. Measure every window casing.

Make sure to:

  • Record all measurements.
  • Work from left-to-right.
  • The recorded height should be the same as the measured height from top to bottom of the window casing if you take away 1/4". The recorded width should be the same as the measured width from both sides of the window casing minus 1/4". This way you'll have 1/8" clearance around all of it.

2. Cut 1/2" plywood or polycarbonate clear boarding to the size that was recorded for every window.

  • Mark every cut piece with it's corresponding label, Example: FF1, the window at the left front of the house on the first floor.
  • If you decide to keep the chart and label the plywood or polycarbonate clear boarding covers, you will not need to label the casings.

3. Put the clips on every plywood or polycarbonate clear boarding cover (if the window is 24"x24" or smaller, only use two clips).

  • Each clip should be placed on the edge of the plywood or polycarbonate clear boarding cover no more than 24 inches apart.
  • Be sure that the tension legs are facing you.

4. Push the plywood or polycarbonate clear boarding covers with the tension legs to the outside into the casing.

5. PLYLOX also works in round windows like they do in rectangular windows. You can adjust the number of clips used to make up for different shapes and sizes of different windows.
